"Decent festival, but the lines were unnecessary"
I enjoyed the films overall, but the way the lines were handled was messy. It felt like a lot of the confusion was unnecessary and could’ve been avoided with better signs or staff direction...
"I was able to find the screening times..."
I was able to find the screening times quickly. I mean, I kept thinking I might have missed something, but the schedule was easy to follow.

"My weekend at Austin Film Festival was a blast"
I had such a good time at Austin Film Festival. The lines got a little ridiculous here and there, which definitely tested my patience, but i was having too much fun to stay annoyed. I got to see some great movies, sit in on panels I actually cared about, and meet people who made the weekend feel easy and fun. It felt like exactly the kind of relaxed, movie-filled weekend I needed, and I’d definitely go again.

"Some spots were harder to get into than expected"
I had a good time overall, but the accessibility was kind of hit or miss. Some venues had ramps and staff who were really helpful, while others felt cramped and, for some reason, the lines were confusing to figure out. I just wish there had been clearer info before getting there so I knew what to expect.
"Got a quick reply"
I reached out to support and they got back to me really fast. i wasn’t expecting such a quick response, so that was a nice surprise.

"Helpful enough, just slower than I hoped"
I’ll give them credit, they did help me out in the end. It just wasn’t always as quick as I needed it to be, which got a little frustrating at times. Not perfect, but I guess it was decent enough overall

"Loved the films, but the venues need work"
I had a good time overall and really enjoyed a lot of the films, but the venues were kind of hit or miss. A couple of the rooms had great screens and sound, but another one felt cramped, and the seats were worn out. The lines were also confusing at times when moving between locations. For what the tickets cost, I expected things to feel a little more organized and comfortable. I’d come back if the venue setup improves, but if it feels the same next time, I might skip it and look for another festival.
"Pretty solid panels, I think?"
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect with these panels, but they actually turned out to be useful. Like, I’m not exactly sure why I thought they might be boring, but they weren’t at all. Overall, they seem solid and got the job done
"I mainly went for the speaker lineup..."
I mainly went for the speaker lineup. It was worth it. The guests were really interesting. Not the same people you see at every event. I liked hearing from writers, filmmakers, and industry folks. They actually had useful stories to share. The panels felt relaxed too. Not stiff or awkward. I’d definitely go again if the lineup stays this good.

"Fun screenings, crowd made it better"
I went to a couple screenings and the crowd was one of the best parts. People were really into it and asked solid questions, so the Q&A stuff didn’t feel awkward or like it was dragging forever. The site was mostly easy to use for checking times, even though a few pages looked kind of cluttered on my phone. I got a little turned around, but I guess that means there was a lot going on, which is good? Overall it was a fun time with good energy, just a bit messy in spots

"Decent fest, but the price made me sigh"
I had an okay time at the fest, but the ticket prices felt a little steep for what it was. I kept telling myself to just be patient and go with it, but it’s kind of annoying when you feel like you’re being forced to wait around and accept high prices with no better cheaper options. Still decent overall, just wish it was more affordable

"Solid spot to connect with film people"
I mostly went for the networking, and it ended up being better than I expected. I met a few writers and producers just waiting in lines, sitting in panels, and hanging around the mixers. I also found myself asking people which events were worth checking out, and it was kind of helpful following where everyone said the good conversations were happening.
Some parts were crowded, and there were moments where I wasn’t totally sure where I should be, but overall I came away with real contacts and a couple of follow-ups. If you’re willing to actually talk to people and not just stand around, it’s definitely worth going

"Helpful at first, but the goalposts kept moving"
The feedback was somewhat useful and did help me improve a few things, but it wasn’t always super clear. It also felt like the expectations kept changing, so every time I thought I understood what to fix, the goalposts moved again. Helpful in parts, just a bit frustrating overall.

"I really liked the vibe at..."
I really liked the vibe at Austin Film Festival. Everyone I talked to was super friendly, whether it was other writers or just movie fans waiting in lines or hanging around after panels. There wasn't any weird pressure or awkard energy, just felt like a nice little community all weekend. I'd definetly go again.

"Great if you know what you’re looking for"
I’ve had a really good experience with Austin Film Festival as a writer. I mostly stuck to the panels and talks that actually applied to where I am in my career, and those ended up being super helpful. There’s a lot going on, so I kind of tuned out the stuff that felt too broad or hype-y, but the practical advice I did catch was genuinely useful. I also met a few writers and industry people who were surprisingly open and willing to share advice.

"Finally, a festival process that didn’t feel like a maze"
I really appreciated that Austin Film Festival actually explains how the judging works and what happens after you submit. With a lot of festivals, I end up feeling kind of trapped in this black box, just waiting around with no idea what’s going on, so this was a nice change.
The updates were clear, and I didn’t have to dig forever to find the rules. It made the whole process feel more fair and a lot less stressful

"It worked, but I felt a little lost"
The forms went through fine in the end, but I felt a bit confused along the way. Some of the instructions weren’t very clear, so I had to stop and second-guess what I was supposed to do. It wasn’t terrible, just a little frustrating
"Pretty easy to find what I needed"
I found the schedule and ticket info quickly, which was nice because I usually blame websites when I can’t figure things out. This one was simple to use on my phone and didn’t give me any annoying issues...

"The films were great, but the..."
The films were great, but the whole crowd and line situation was confusing. The lines moved really slowly, and while some of the staff seemed like they were trying, a few of them talked to people like we should’ve already known where to go. It made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be

"I had a good time at the..."
I had a good time at the festival overall, and the badge definitely got me into a decent amount of stuff. That said, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the whole pass setup was designed to make you *think* you’re getting more value than you actually are. Some lines were super long, a few events were weirdly hard to plan around, and by the end I was doing mental math like I’d uncovered some secret festival pricing scheme. Not a bad experience at all, but for the cost, I wish the pass felt a bit more worth it...
